I’ve always been passionate about math—it’s what led me to earn my master’s degree and become a college instructor. Over the years, I’ve helped students from elementary school through high school turn confusion into confidence by breaking complex concepts into clear, manageable steps.
On the GRE, I earned a perfect score in math (top 1% worldwide), reflecting both my mastery of the subject and the high standards I bring to teaching. But what truly defines my work is how I connect with students—meeting them where they are and helping them build both skill and confidence.
Life has taught me perseverance, responsibility, and empathy—qualities I bring into every tutoring session. I believe academic success grows from encouragement, consistency, and the belief that every student can improve with the right guidance.
That purpose inspired me to open Desert Math Academy, a math tutoring center serving Sahuarita and Green Valley — a place where students not only master math but also develop resilience, discipline, and a growth mindset. Parents can trust that their child will receive patient instruction, steady support, and genuine care every step of the way.

Foundation
Many students think they understand basic fraction operations, yet few can confidently solve problems like 1/64 − 1/144. When they move on to rational expressions operations, these concepts often feel completely new and confusing. That’s because many students rely on quick “tricks” instead of learning to factor denominators and find the least common multiple (LCM) — the real foundation of fraction work.
At Desert Math Academy, we teach students to connect these early skills with more advanced concepts. When students build a solid foundation early, their future math learning becomes much easier and more enjoyable. The challenge is that many don’t even realize they’re missing that foundation — until the problems get harder.
Parent Action:
Once in a while, ask your child to explain how they solved a problem — not just give the answer. Explaining out loud helps reveal whether they truly understand the concept.
Practice Daily
Over the years, I’ve met many college students who still struggle with basic multiplication. When I say “familiar,” I mean being able to answer 5 × 9 = 45 instantly — without counting fingers or pausing to think.
At Desert Math Academy, we believe consistent practice builds true mastery. That’s why we guide students to practice the math concepts they’re learning until they become second nature. With steady practice and the right support, students gain confidence, accuracy, and a strong foundation that lasts for years.

Encourage your child to spend just 10 focused minutes a day reviewing what they learned in class. Even short, regular practice builds stronger memory and confidence than long, infrequent study sessions.

All of our math tutors in Sahuarita and Green Valley are carefully selected, required to pass rigorous math tests, and demonstrate strong explanation skills to ensure every student receives the best learning experience possible.
